Colorado Visit 2012

On July 13 we had the closing on our house in Colorado.  It was a sad day, but we know our ties to Colorado run much deeper than the house that was there.  We took the opportunity to spend a week with our friends to visit, enjoy the mountains and catch up.  What a wonderful trip we had.  We are always reminded of what a special place Colorado is when we return and that truer friends cannot be found, they are our Colorado family.

Little friends getting reacquainted.

Such a cool house, with a phone and a doorbell!

Thomas taking a call.

Zoo time!

Emily, Thomas, John, Marin and Charlotte checking out the animals.

Watching the elephants.

Monkeys grooming each other.

The grooming was fascinating.

The toy radio was a hit.

Look at all those kids!  Charlotte, Phoebe, Addie, Marin, John and Thomas

An after lunch stroll on the Pearl Street Mall

This pop fountain is pretty cool!

Which one is going to pop next??

Celebratory house closing dinner at Frasca.

Charlotte is not so sure about this "special" hat from the kitchen tour.

Sleeping girls

Good morning everyone!

John found the big "X" in the sky and everyone wanted to check it out!

Project time

All tired out

Vance's Cabin ~11,000 ft - where we stayed in the mountains for the weekend.

Jade, Marin and Charlotte helping get snack ready for our hike.

Jade taking a turn in the backpack.

We were not sure if the Moby would work with such a big girl, but it did and she found it very comfortable.

At the summit of Taylor Hill.

All the girls finishing up snack - Marlene, Jade, Marin, Kelli and Charlotte

Domino time

Story time with all the kids - Charlotte, Marin, Jade, Phoebe and "Noodle" who is soon to arrive

A friendly match of horseshoes.  John and Pete vs. Dave and Marlene

Little watchers braving the chilly, drizzling weather.

Cute girls

John, or should we call him stickerman, is such a good sport with all the little girls.

The whole gang.

We took a little hike up Meadow Mountain near Vail, on our way home after our stay in the hut.

What did you find?

A happy hiker!

A digging break - Charlotte loves her hiking tangents.

Daddy and his big girl

Taking in the view, it never get old!

She is asleep again and the skies are looking a little stormy.

Hmmm, should we go in??

It is safe inside the little hut!

That is one big dandelionesque flower!

Awake and happy!

Charlotte wanted one of those huge flowers too.

On the plane, heading back to NY.

With nighttime bear in hand, Marin is ready.
