Last week we hiked a beautiful trail up Anthony's Nose near the Bear Mountain Bridge. We put on our snow shoes and headed up the mountain. The hike was wonderful on a sunny, mild day, but what was even more special were the friendly hikers we ran into. The first hiker was an 80 year old man who hiked up the much steeper front side of the mountain. His smile was infectious and he is an inspiration of the shape we hope to be in at 80. The second hikers were a father and son duo who have hiked all over the area. When we got back to the car we found a note under our windshield. It was a topo map of the area from the father and son with a note welcoming us back to the East. :) The third hiker was a man that simply asked to take our picture. He wanted to show his wife that he is not the craziest person out there!! Apparently she thinks any hiking is "crazy".
