We had one more stop in the Alps before we left for the Riviera, a stay in the Rifugio Arbolle, a mountain hut that was about a three hour hike from Pila and 2,500 feet of climbing. Small potatoes for some, but a good hike for others. :) We had a fantastic hike in a beautiful location. We had the Rifugio almost to ourselves (one other couple) along with the caretaker and cook. We did not know what to expect when we arrived, but they had a full restaurant and comfortable bunks for us to stay in. We fortunately brought some GF pasta that they were happy to prepare for Pete along with the three course dinner they serve at either 7 or 7:30pm every night. The location was so peaceful and we particularly enjoyed trying to chat in Italian with the cook.

| Although I was ready to kick up my feet to take a nap Pete wanted to take advantage of all the surrounding peaks. Pete did a super fast solo trip to Punta Valletta. |
