Hike at Button Rock Preserve

Last Saturday we headed out to Button Rock Preserve for a great family hike. The girls had a blast, which is always the case as long as their is rock scrambling involved, and it was a beautiful day that deserved to be savored.
Heading out with just one backpack - how far will we get??

Such a big hiker.

Investigating a little black cricket - we have two blooming entomologists in tow.

Heading onto the rocky trail from the wide dirt path - cause for excitement.

We can't get enough of these cuties.

Heading up to "our summit".

Almost there!

We made it!

Summit shot

What a view of the valley, let's make it back to the car before it rains.

One of the criteria for the hike is it had to be by water, Marin's request. Fortunately Daddy is a human encyclopedia of Colorado hikes.

She made it almost all the way to the car under her own power.
