Vassar Farm Hike

We have lived one mile from the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve for over 1.5 years.  Pete has run on all of the trails, but the girls and I have never made it over for a visit, other than to our garden plot.  This past Monday, Pete needed the car for work and the girls and I needed some time outside.  Pete dropped us off at the farm and we had a fantastic time!  The hike including the walk back home was about 2.5 miles and Marin did really well walking the entire time.
Little hikers ready to go.

Check out this weed!

Time to go in to the forest.

They are working on something.

A huge weed!!

Old, dry leaves

Marin took this picture!  I think it is time to get another camera!

Inspecting an ant hill.

The hike is getting long, time for walking sticks.

Marin helping Charlotte off a rock she climbed onto.

She is very protective of Charlotte and really likes to hold her hand.

Charlotte is not always so keen on hand holding.

One girl over the bridge!

Here goes the other!

Back on the bridge again.

Some dandelion time on the rugby pitch.

Snack time

Our walk home involved a lot of tangents. :)  Charlotte was asleep in the backpack carrier so Marin played and played.
