November Mega-Post

Here are pictures from the past few weeks.  We have enjoyed playing outside, preparing for Thanksgiving and celebrating Daddy's birthday.

Getting the paint ready to make a picture.

Painting time

On your mark, get set, go!

Filling the compost bin with leaves.

Very excited to find a little red berry on our treasure hunt in the backyard.

Our treasure pile - leaves, rocks, dirt and a berry

Charlotte found some bark to add to the pile (she is stepping over the large branch she brought over as her stick in our treasure hunt).

8th Anniversary Dinner

Working on our Thanksgiving table candle holders.

Completed project

I can't remember what we were looking at, but it must have been funny!

Charlotte thinks our new block bin is the perfect size.

The girls enjoying their first slumber party in the play room. Every weekend night since Marin has asked for a slumber party!

Marin enjoying some time by herself on the keyboard.
Story time lead by Marin.

Look at those ladies with their legs crossed.

Ready to go to the playground.

Check out all of the leaves.

Marin asked these other girls to run with her and they had a blast.

Taking a rest with her new friend Charlotte and her little brother.

Our garden - time to take it all down for winter. The snow storm helped take the fence down.

The girls were playing in the car while I was vacuuming the carpets.  I looked in the front seat and they were buckled up ready to go to New York City, Marin's favorite city.

There were some painters working at our house so Charlotte was asleep downstairs.  I can't believe she has almost outgrown the pack 'n play.

Marin loves to carry Charlotte around and Charlotte enjoys it too!

It is funny what she captures when we are not paying attention.  We must have been working on something very serious.

Out for a hike at Bowdoin Park.

It is hard to see, but Marin picked up the branch she is holding in her left hand and kept it with her for the entire hike.

How our hikes have changed in the past three years. :)

Decorating Daddy

Rest time

Happy girl

Getting ready to stain the backside of our photo studio tabletop.

Painting the turkeys they made with their hands.

Piano time with Daddy.

I let the girls play with the rice while I was working on a recipe for a cookbook we were reviewing.

They both wanted to get in and the deal was they could if no more rice got out of the bin. I went back to the kitchen, we ate dinner, got ready for bed then...

I came in the room to find this!!

There was rice from the front door to the playroom.  No wonder when Pete came home from work he asked me if I said they could play in the rice!

Our friends Kathryn and Kirsten gave us a kids cookbook when we were expecting Marin.  It has sat on the shelf and recently Marin has started looking through it.  She picked out this recipe and very excitedly asked me if she could make it.  Here she is trying the fruits of her labor. She decided she likes cream cheese, but is not so keen on the vegetables.

The "hair" was here favorite part.

We have all really enjoyed having the piano out again.  It has been in the basement since we moved.

Another picture by Marin.

They are very proud of their turkeys that they hung up.

"We love eachother"  Squeeze!

Crunching up the cookies for Daddy's birthday cake.

They sign they made.

  1. Great post, Kelli! That rice box looks like a ton of fun, I think I'm going to copy that. :)

  2. My friend Sarah gave me the idea. Copy away and have fun! Marin played with it for months without ever thinking of getting in the bin, but as soon as Charlotte was old enough to play they both ended up in the bin.
