Pete's most recent race was the San Juan Solstice 50 Mile Race and it was a doozy! We stayed in Lake City, which is where the race started and finished. This worked our really well because there were only two aid stations we could see Daddy, at mile 16 and 40. That left tons of time for us to play at the playground, rest at the cabin and enjoy Lake City. Pete carried a camera for this race so we were able to see some of the terrain he covered. Due to the higher than average snow pack the rivers were rushing exceptionally high due to snow melt (they had 14 crossings I believe) and when the racers were up around 13,000 feet (which they were for much of the race) there was quite a bit of snow to navigate. Pete finished strong and really fought for this one! He made it before the cut off and "enjoyed" the challenging course. :)
